Bonjour France!

We had the priviledge of zipping to Paris for 2 nights to see the sights. The view from the Arc de Triomphe was vast and beautiful, Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa were exciting to behold, and the Eiffel Tower...need we say more, but viewed from the top and from our hotel room was amazing.

Sloopa & Oompa Visit

On March 26th Sloopa and Oompa arrived at Schipol airport and greeted their grandkids with big hugs. They posed by an aircraft engine before we drove back to Delft. To stay awake and get on the right time zone, we all walked around the market, braving the rain, enjoying lamb giros, and buying fresh fruit & flowers. Sloopa generously brought the whole family some thoughtful presents from the States.

The Euromast

A few weekends ago, we took a short jaunt (20 min car ride) to Rotterdam to check out the 185 m high Euromast. Similar to Seattle's Space Needle, there are elevators and stairs to various viewing decks, a resturant & gift shop, hundreds of windows, and a rotating elevator, the "Euroscope." It was very cold and windy outside, but we all loved beholding several cities from inside the Euroscope.

Kids Start Dutch Preschool

Lucas and Hailey recently embarked on their first school experience at a local Dutch "peuterspeelzaal" around the corner. They attend for 3 hours twice a week. They have created some lovely masterpieces out of clay and with paint. Both seem to be adjusting and both are beginning to pick up the language. They will learn parts of the body (in Dutch) next week.

Tom's New Bike

Although it was locked in multiple ways, Tom's bike was recently stolen. The bright side, was the insurance claim helped pay for an even cooler bike...a FOLDING bike. It's compact, wheels like a piece of luggage when folded, and can be taken on public transportation for free. Very cool engineering.

CAR IN THE CANAL

Fortunately, it wasn't ours...about 200 meters from our door, this car took a swim- yikes!
